This action research study was designed to address the existent issues regarding
investigative gaps of Modern Languages Program of the University of Quindío. The idea
was to implement and create an extracurricular space wherein the participants could be in
touch with the research basic concepts; all this with 6th and 7th semester students from the
mentioned major. These activities were developed for 7 weeks during April and May of
2018. The meetings were carried out once a week to work on activities designed to
improve the participants’ research skills. Also, they had the opportunity to create their
ideas and verify their viability. The participants culminated the action stage with a basic
knowledge of what the preliminary stages of effectuating a research project are. Also,
having a mental structure of how to execute a research project when they reach 8th
semester, and they have to attend to the research seminar class, despite the existing gap
between 6th and 8th semesters concerning investigation.
